Has anyone tried antlers?
I just ordered 3 of the XL whole antlers from the link below. I've heard good things. They don't stink and the marrow is hard, not gooey like in beef marrow bones. They're also supposed to last awhile and not splinter, but wear down naturally with chewing. We'll see if they're Luke/Brandy/Sydney tested and approved. Anyone ever try them?

Have never heard of them Melissa.I'm very interested tho. I'll let you break them in and let us know how often you are punctured by the pointed end of the antler as Luke goes flying by!!

Re: Has anyone tried antlers?
We got some elk antlers last week. I think I got two of the split large ones and two of the whole large ones. We saw two vendors this past weekend selling deer antlers at the flyball tournament.

Kiley laid down the first night and worked on a half one until she has hulled out the marrow. Since then, they both will pick them up from time to time and chew a while. Keep in mind though, that neither of our dogs are big chewers.

Our house looks like a cross between a daycare and a graveyard, interesting combination I think.

Def keep us posted Sally loves a good thing to chew on. She's tried to steal some antlers John has but he caught her.

I'm sure that's what my living room will look like too.

And yeah Judi, I'll let you know if I get impaled. Luke does like to do a happy dance when he gets a new bone. It's really pretty funny, I should try to get video of it.

Those do look interesting, never would have thought of that; am I missing where they are made?

"Cross between a daycare and graveyard" , that's what mine would look like, too.

The ones I purchased came from the eastern Washington area. The seller is on Etsy. I love to support people on that site, they are always very nice to deal with and want you to be satisfied.

For the big chewers, definitely order the whole antlers.

Thanks for the link, I'm gonna order some, see if Joe and Java like them. They love the fresh bones and they've really cleaned up Java's teeth. It's just a drive to get them.

I've been giving them to Cricket for a few months now. She loves them!!! I have tried Elk and Deer.... the Elk smelled,

I just got her a huge one, which was a mistake for her. She likes the little ones much better.

I am a huge fan of them!

I've never bought any but when my dogs find deer sheds or moose sheds they just love them and they last a long time!

Re: Has anyone tried antlers?
I would love to try them but I can't justify spending $30 on 2 antlers when I can get a big ol pack of marrow bones at the grocery store for $4.....

At this rate, these things will be given only every once in awhile. Mine have already worn one down to a nubbin, so I pitched it. A second one is well on its way to nubbinville. The third is still completely intact. They all want to work on the same one for some reason. But my dogs are power chewers, I replace those Hartz bones every couple of weeks too.

Re: Has anyone tried antlers?
The half antlers have definitely gone quicker in our house. The whole ones are still pretty much in tact, but they get picked up daily and chewed on some. I am kind of glad my dogs are power chewers. I will be a couple of months before I need to buy any more. They do have a few marrow bones laying around that they will chew on as well. Their teeth look so much better when they regularly chew on bones or antlers. I helps get all the plaque off their back teeth.

Re: Has anyone tried antlers?
got mine today. I got the large half antlers and they seem pretty small. I hope they're extra hard and we get some qualtity chew time out of them. For $21 (2 antlers plus shipping) I could buy ten 4" long marrow bones. So these things need to last at least 5 days to break even.
